IB Primary STEAM & Art Teacher

We are looking for candidates for an IB Primary STEAM & Art Teacher role to join us at SABAH.school! 

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated STEAM lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary learning. Foster a hands-on, inquiry-based approach to teaching;
• Infuse technology into the curriculum by leveraging digital tools, coding, robotics, and other emerging technologies to enhance learning experiences;
• Promote a culture of innovation by facilitating maker activities, design thinking, and project-based learning that encourage students to create, experiment, and solve real-world problems;
• Collaborate with other teachers and educational specialists to design and implement interdisciplinary projects that link STEAM concepts to other subject areas within the PYP framework;
• Stay current with advancements in STEAM education and technology integration. Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching strategies and knowledge;
• Oversee the use and maintenance of classroom technology and HUB resources, ensuring they are up-to-date, well-maintained, and accessible to students;
• Engage parents and the wider school community in understanding the importance of STEAM education and the role it plays in fostering innovation and problem-solving skills;
• Ensure a safe and secure environment in the STEAM classroom and maker space. Adhere to safety standards for all activities and equipment;
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all students' needs and interests;
• Encourage collaboration, communication, and teamwork among students through group projects and presentations;
• Enforce responsible use of technology and digital tools, promoting digital citizenship and ethical behavior among students.

Requirements for the candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Education, or a related field;
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
• Knowledge and understanding of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and its guiding principles;
• Previous experience teaching STEAM subjects and integrating technology into the curriculum;
• Proficiency in a range of educational technologies and digital tools;
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills;
• Passion for innovation, creativity, and inspiring a lifelong love of learning;
• Experience with project-based learning, design thinking, and/or maker education;
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
