Reports to Head Teacher

Position summary

• This is a full-time position. The Preschool Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences in line with the Cambridge Early Years Programme. The role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes the holistic development of children aged 3–6 years.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging learning activities aligned with the Cambridge Early Years Programme.
• Develop creative and developmentally appropriate lesson plans for preschool-aged children.
• Create and maintain a positive, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Prepare and update teaching materials and learning resources.
• Motivate and engage children through enthusiastic and imaginative teaching approaches.
• Establish and maintain positive classroom behavior and routines.
• Observe and assess children's development, identifying areas for growth and support.
• Monitor, document, and maintain accurate records of each child's developmental progress.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress and well-being.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to team planning.
• Build positive relationships with staff, children, and families.
• Supervise children during learning activities, meals, outdoor play, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health, and safety policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience working in early childhood education or with children aged 3–6 years.
• Familiarity with the Cambridge Early Years Programme is considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of child safeguarding practices and first aid procedures is preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development principles.

Education
