Data Analyst (Ecosystem Analytics)

We are seeking for a candidate who would contributes to creating a positive employee experience by coordinating employee listening activities, analyzing workforce insights, supporting culture transformation projects, and assisting in organizational development initiatives that enhance engagement, performance, and organizational effectiveness. 

Strong critical thinking — able to question assumptions, identify weak logic, and pursue evidence rather than confirm a predetermined conclusion

Excellent articulation — able to structure and communicate complex findings simply, in both English and Azerbaijani, to non-technical senior audiences

Genuine intellectual curiosity and comfort with ambiguity — this role requires generating its own questions, not waiting for a request

Solid grounding in business and economics fundamentals — market structure, competitive dynamics, macroeconomic indicators, financial/banking sector logic

Research discipline — comfortable designing a hypothesis, gathering evidence, and revising a view when the evidence doesn't support it

Self-direction — able to prioritize and structure independent work without close day-to-day supervision 

Genuine intellectual curiosity and comfort with ambiguity 

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Statistics, or a related quantitative/business field; Master's degree is a plus but not required 

Prior experience at a large, established organization — explicitly: a major Telecom operator, a major Bank, or a Big 4 firm

Background in market research, strategy, competitive intelligence, or economic/financial analysis

Exposure to the payments, e-commerce, or banking/fintech sectors specifically 

Working proficiency in SQL for independent data extraction and validation

Ability to build clear data visualizations to support a research narrative

Ability to design and deliver professional slide decks / presentations

Fluent Azerbaijani and English (verbal and written)

Design and pursue independent research questions and hypotheses on cash turnover trends, e commerce growth, and banking/fintech market dynamics in Azerbaijan and comparable markets

Monitor, collect, and synthesize external market data — industry reports, competitor activity, regulatory shifts, macroeconomic indicators — into structured analyses

Translate market observations into testable hypotheses, validate them with available data, and articulate findings with clear business implications

Build and present concise, decision-oriented narratives (slide decks, briefs) for senior stakeholders based on original research rather than routine reporting

Track competitive and market positioning of Bir Ecosystem's products (Birbank, Birmarket, m10, and related verticals) against the broader market

Own and keep current a set of recurring, externally-oriented market reports with embedded analysis and insights (e.g. cash turnover trend updates, e-commerce and banking sector pulse reports) 

Collaborate with strategy, product, and business teams to feed external market perspective into planning cycles

Maintain a lightweight, well-documented body of research (methodology, sources, assumptions) that can be revisited and built upon over time Handle occasional ad hoc and internal data requests as they arise, without letting them displace the primary external-research mandate
