Database Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, security, performance, and reliability of enterprise database platforms while supporting business-critical applications and data services.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server database environments.
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and system resources.
• Design, implement, and maintain backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, patch management, and capacity planning activities.
• Manage database security, user accounts, roles, permissions, and access controls.
• Monitor database growth, storage utilization, and overall system health.
• Configure and maintain SQL Server Agent Jobs, maintenance plans, alerts, and monitoring solutions.
• Analyze execution plans, wait statistics, blocking, deadlocks, and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, system, network, SAP, and development teams.
• Maintain technical documentation and participate in incident response and on-call support.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
• Master's degree is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator, Data Platform Administrator, or similar role.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server administration experience.
• Experience supporting databases of 500 GB or larger.
• Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting.

Technical Skills

• Advanced T-SQL scripting and query optimization.
• Backup & Restore, Recovery Models, Transaction Log Management.
• SQL Server Agent Jobs, Monitoring, Maintenance Plans.
• High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
• OLTP/OLAP, ETL/ELT, Data Warehouse concepts.
• Basic SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA knowledge.
• Windows Server, Linux fundamentals, VMware/Hyper-V.
• Change Management documentation.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Microsoft DP-300
• SAP HANA Database Administration
• DAMA CDMP
• MCSA/MCSE SQL Server
• ITIL
• Data Engineering / Analytics certifications

Language Skills

• Azerbaijani
• English (preferred)
• Russian (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP HANA administration.
• SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration.
• Always On, Failover Cluster, Log Shipping.
• PostgreSQL, Oracle, cloud databases.
• Airflow, Kafka, Spark, NiFi, Debezium, MinIO.
• Power BI or Tableau.
• REST APIs, JSON integrations.
• Python or PowerShell automation.
• Storage technologies (SAN/NAS, RAID, IOPS).
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
