Junior Engineer

Purpose of the role

• The Junior Engineer (CSE) supports the team's engineers in translating customer requirements into optimal KONE technical solutions. The role holder takes part in design, specification preparation, site surveys and technical documentation, gaining hands-on experience with KONE's engineering processes, standards and tools.

Key responsibilities

Support for solution design

• Assists in preparing layouts and technical drawings for elevator and escalator solutions under the supervision of CSE engineers
• Supports the preparation of technical specifications for standard cases
• Assists with initial traffic analyses and energy calculations

Site work and technical documentation

• Participates in technical site surveys and documents the results
• Helps collect the technical information required for ordering and completing the documentation process
• Stores and updates project documents correctly in KONE document-management systems

Collaboration within the team

• Supports the senior engineer in providing technical information to the sales, installation and maintenance teams
• Assists in verifying that proposed solutions comply with local codes, safety requirements and KONE's engineering policy

Development and learning

• Takes part in trainings on KONE's sales, delivery and CSE processes, engineering standards, systems and tools
• Contributes to and makes use of the CSE case library

Requirements

Education and experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, civil/construction or another relevant field)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of work experience

Essential (mandatory) skills

• CAD: Working proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software — mandatory
• English: Working level (sufficient for working with technical documents and communication) — mandatory
• Computer skills: Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)

Considered an advantage

• Familiarity with BIM software
• Experience in the elevator/escalator or construction field, an internship, or a relevant thesis project
• Basic knowledge of traffic analysis and energy calculations
