Job Dimensions
- Absheron Early Production Scheme (EPS) is an early development phase with a production plateau at 1.5 bcma of gas (production started on 3 July 2023).
- EPS Project Technical Data: Production from 1 subsea well, 34 km multiphase flowline, dedicated new platform installed at Oil Rocks field.
- Absheron Full Field Development studies are progressing towards a Final Investment Decision (expected end Q3 2026) with an objective to produce around 4.5 bcma of gas from 3 subsea wells (first gas planned in Q3 2029 while drilling is expected to start in Q1 2027).
- JOCAP Joint Operating Company of Absheron Petroleum is a company created in March 2018, which has been the Operator of Absheron since August 2018.
- JOCAP is owned by SOCAR (35%), TotalEnergies (35%) and ADNOC (30%).
- The operatorship will change from JOCAP to TEPAb in Q4 2026.
- Reference agreements are PSA, JOA and addendums.
Activities
Provide Reservoir Engineering / Petroleum Engineering Support to the Team
- Perform Analytical and Numerical Reservoir Engineering (modelling, Well Test Interpretation, Material Balance).
- Contribute to the yearly Reservoir Surveillance Plan update.
- Contribute to Dynamic Synthesis and integrated 2G&R studies.
- Support Well Performance activities (EPS production monitoring, Well Modelling).
Support the Yearly Reserves Exercise (Prime)
- Update existing models with additional data to assess the quality of the model (history matching and forecast).
- Provide low/best/high potential profiles.
- Provide Proved Developed and Proved Undeveloped reserves.
- Prepare the reserves tables/report.
- Compare with previous year’s reserves.
- Provide input to the Reserves Consolidating Meeting slides.
- Load data into the Reserves Database (Prime).
- Update the reserves with end-year production.
Support Long-Term Profiles (LTP)
- Update existing models with additional data to assess the quality of the model.
- Provide profiles.
Support Reporting / Technical Meetings
- Contribute to the weekly and monthly internal reports.
- Update quarterly and yearly reports for Contractor Parties.
- Support Technical Meetings.
Data Management and Information System (TMORE)
- QA/QC of Reservoir data.
- Contribute to the transfer of data as part of the Change of Operatorship from JOCAP to TEPAb.
- Update TMORE Database with additional available data (production data, new well information, etc.).
- Develop TMORE functionalities (TMORE PF, TMEX, etc.).
- Interface between several stakeholders (IT, OPS, DEV, Service Provider) to ensure all available data is maintained and saved in good quality in TMORE.
HSE Responsibilities
- Comply with the activities described within the HSE Management System.

- Report any anomaly, abnormal condition and near miss to the supervisor.
- Participate actively in HSE meetings, safety talks, toolboxes, training sessions and drills.
- Co-operate actively in the execution of HSE plans.
Authority to suspend activities when there is a potential or actual threat to human life, the installation or the environment, and notify forthwith the responsible supervisor.
Accountabilities
- Provide Reservoir Engineering support to the 2G&R team.
- Support the yearly Reserves Exercise (PRIME) and Long-Term Plan (LTP).
- Update the TMORE Reservoir Management Database with additional data and develop Power BI dashboards.
- Contribute to team reporting and technical meetings.
Qualifications / Experience / Skills
Qualification Level Required for the Position:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Reservoir Engineering or Petroleum Engineering.
Professional Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of analytical and numerical Reservoir Engineering experience, including Inflow/Outflow analyses.
- Knowledge of modelling software (ECLIPSE and/or IX).
- Notions of reserves booking methodology and Data Management / Information Systems.
Soft Skills:
- Teamwork, flexibility, proactivity, curiosity, listening skills, communication and reporting.
Language Skills Required for the Position:
- English (fluent); French would be a plus.
