Data Platform Engineer/ DevOps Engineer

As a Mid-level Data Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer, you will work alongside Software Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers and Data Engineers to understand their technical needs and help translate them into reliable, scalable data platform solutions. You will contribute to building, maintaining and improving Enterprise Data Platform components - including custom data and platform products that enhance reliability and accessibility - with guidance from senior team members where needed.

Job responsibilities:

• Contributing to the design, deployment and maintenance of on-premises, hybrid and cloud data infrastructure.
• Building and improving custom data and platform products that increase reliability, accessibility and ease of use for internal teams.
• Implementing and supporting monitoring, alerting and automation solutions to ensure platform reliability and performance.
• Assisting with performance tuning and optimization of data platform components and storage engines.
• Applying data security best practices including AAA, encryption and secrets management to protect sensitive information.
• Communicating with internal customers (Software Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers and Data Engineers) to gather feedback and support their day-to-day needs.
• Supporting platform upgrade and migration activities in line with the development roadmap.

Job requirements:

• Preferably 2–4 years of experience in similar roles (DevOps, DataOps or DBA), including hands-on experience building custom data and platform products for reliability and accessibility.
• Familiarity with Data Lakehouse on-premises, hybrid and/or cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Linux administration and core DevOps tools including Kubernetes (K8s), CI/CD pipelines, GIT, Prometheus, Grafana and Vault for secrets management.
• Experience with distributed storage administration including Ceph and object stores such as Minio (S3 compatible) and Apache Iceberg.
• Experience with CloudNativePG (CNPG) and one or more database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, MongoDB, Neo4j or etcd.
• Familiarity with data platform tools such as Trino, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, Apache Kafka or Apache NiFi.
• Nice to have experience with Terraform and/or Ansible.
