IB Primary Science Teacher

We are looking for candidates for an IB Primary Science Teacher role to join us at SABAH.school! 

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based Science lessons that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific investigation.
• Integrate Science within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Programme of Inquiry, creating meaningful connections across subject areas.
• Design and facilitate hands-on learning experiences using the MAKE approach, enabling students to investigate, design, test, refine, and communicate solutions to authentic environmental and human-centred challenges.
• Foster students' scientific thinking through observation, experimentation, data collection, measurement, evidence analysis, and problem-solving.
• Develop students' understanding of key scientific concepts, including living systems, ecosystems, body systems, energy, electricity, circuits, environmental sustainability, and scientific inquiry.
• Purposefully integrate Digital Skills into learning by using technology for research, data collection, documentation, collaboration, creative communication, and digital citizenship.
• Collaborate with Homeroom Teachers and specialist teachers to embed Science and inquiry across the Programme of Inquiry.
• Assess student learning using formative and summative assessment strategies and provide meaningful feedback to support student growth.
• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, resilience, and student agency.
• Participate actively in collaborative planning, curriculum development, and ongoing professional learning.
• Promote responsible and ethical use of technology in accordance with digital citizenship principles.
• Ensure that all classroom resources, science equipment, and learning materials are maintained and used safely.

Requirements for the candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field;
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
• Knowledge and understanding of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and its guiding principles;
• Experience integrating Science into interdisciplinary learning experiences. 
• Proficiency in a range of educational technologies and digital tools;
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to assess student learning and use assessment data to inform instruction. 
• Experience with project-based learning, design thinking, and/or maker education;
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
