Investment Manager

Project: Sea Breeze Health Valley (SBHV)

Location: Nardaran, Azerbaijan

Sea Breeze Health Valley (SBHV) is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Investment Manager to support the planning, evaluation, and execution of strategic healthcare, innovation, education, and investment projects within the Sea Breeze Health Valley ecosystem.

The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and assessing investment opportunities, developing business cases and financial models, leading market and feasibility studies, and supporting the implementation of large-scale initiatives, including healthcare facilities, R&D hubs, educational institutions, biotechnology parks, and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) initiatives. Working closely with senior management, investors, government stakeholders, consultants, and project teams, the Investment Manager will contribute to strategic decision-making and investment execution through rigorous analysis, structured problem-solving, and high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct structured problem solving, including issue trees, hypothesis development, analytical frameworks, and quantitative models
• Develop financial models, business cases, market research, feasibility studies, and economic assessments for medical facilities, R&D hubs, educational centers, and biotech infrastructure
• Prepare presentations, strategic documents, investment materials, value propositions, and analytical memoranda in line with SBHV internal methodologies and quality standards of leading consulting firms
• Ensure quality, consistency, and timely delivery of all analytical outputs, research, and project deliverables
• Participate in benchmarking of international medical, life sciences, and innovation clusters and synthesize key insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (strategy, legal, regulatory, infrastructure, digital, operators) and translate financial and investment logic into actionable implementation steps
• Support pre-investment and pre-partnering activities, including preparation of commercial proposals, tender materials, and preliminary investment concepts
• Conduct interviews and structured information gathering with ministries, investors, healthcare operators, universities, and international partners
• Support project management activities, including monitoring of timelines, risks, KPIs, and key milestones from an investment and economic perspective
• Prepare analytical materials for policy initiatives, incentive models, SEZ regimes, and regulatory proposals
• Systematize knowledge and contribute to the development of internal methodologies, databases, financial tools, and playbooks for further scaling of SBHV
• Prepare legal opinions, risk assessments, and briefing notes for executive management

Qualifications & Competencies

Master’s degree (MBA preferred) in one of the following disciplines:

• Business Administration
• Economics
• Finance
• Public Policy
• Engineering
• Healthcare Management (with a strong analytical background)
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in management consulting (Big 3, Big 4, or equivalent), investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, economic development, infrastructure advisory, or a related field.

Strong expertise in:

• Financial modeling and valuation
• Investment analysis and business case development
• Market and industry research
• Strategic problem structuring
• Feasibility studies and economic assessments
• Presentation development and data visualization
• Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (advanced level)
• Demonstrated experience preparing investment memoranda, market studies, strategic assessments, feasibility studies, and executive-level presentations.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.
• Experience in healthcare, biotechnology, real estate development, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), innovation ecosystems, economic development, or government advisory projects is considered an advantage but is not required.
