Network Specialist

Company: “VLand Systems” LLC (former “STP Metal Structures” LLC)

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and ensure the continuous availability of the corporate LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi network infrastructure;
• Install, configure, maintain, and manage switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networking equipment;
• Configure and administer VLANs, routing, NAT, ACLs, DHCP, DNS, VPN, and other network services;
• Manage FortiGate Firewall security features, including Security Policies, IPS, SSL VPN, IPsec VPN, SD-WAN, NAT, and other security functions;
• Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot FortiSwitch and FortiAP environments;
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize network performance;
• Diagnose and resolve network issues, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement permanent solutions;
• Administer and maintain the Data Center network infrastructure;
• Manage virtual machines, virtual networks, and host infrastructure in VMware ESXi and Proxmox VE environments;
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper network cabling infrastructure;
• Plan and implement firmware upgrades for network devices;
• Administer High Availability (HA), redundant Internet connections, and network redundancy solutions;
• Monitor network performance and availability using monitoring tools such as Zabbix, OpManager, and PRTG;
• Prepare and maintain network diagrams, IP address plans, VLAN documentation, and other technical documentation;
• Participate in the implementation and enforcement of information security policies;
• Design and deploy network infrastructure for new branches and offices, and expand existing network environments;
• Participate in the planning and implementation of IT infrastructure projects;
• Document completed work and prepare technical reports.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field;
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Network Specialist, Network Administrator, or in a similar role;
• Strong knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite;
• Hands-on experience with switching and routing technologies;
• Good knowledge of VLAN, STP, RSTP, MSTP, LACP, and EtherChannel;
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Static Routing and OSPF;
• Strong understanding of DHCP, DNS, NAT, VPN, and Wi-Fi technologies;
• Experience working with Fortinet solutions, including FortiGate, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP;
• Experience with enterprise wireless networking solutions;
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of and hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and/or Proxmox VE;
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory;
• Experience working with network monitoring systems;
• Knowledge of fiber optic infrastructure and SFP modules;
• Ability to read and create network diagrams;
• Strong technical documentation skills;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a high level of responsibility;
• Fluency in Azerbaijani and technical proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fortinet FCA, FCF, or FCSS certifications;
• Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification;
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification;
• Experience with Linux operating systems;
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as Zabbix, OpManager, or PRTG;
• Knowledge of automation using PowerShell and/or Python;
• ITIL Foundation certification.
